Sun Zoo Live: First Video

As previously mentioned, we videotaped the entire live show and now I’ll be uploading everything to Youtube piece by piece and posting it here (and in the video section) for those interested. Here’s the first part, which is the introduction and the first song I performed, “The Dao of Sun Zoo”. Enjoy.

Pictures from the show

The show at the Webster Underground went very well. The crowd was awesome, so if any of you are reading this, thanks again for showing up, that was a blast! We shot the whole thing in HD on two different cameras; and that footage will be appearing here (via youtube) over the next couple weeks, but for now, here are a few photos I ripped from the video.

Promo Video

Here’s a quick-and-dirty promo video I made testing out my new camera and Final Cut Express 4’s color filters as well as playing with titles a little bit. It’s not particularly interesting, and I misspelled “disappoint”, but if nothing else it shows how good some of the video features that are (I hope) to come will (I hope) look. More on that sort of thing in a little bit.

Tickets available online

For those of you interested in going to the show on Friday the 27th, you can now order tickets online from Veggie Co. These tickets can be picked up prior to the show from the Veggie Co guys in Avon, CT (they’ll contact you) or when you show up to the show on the night of the 27th.

The more tickets we presell, the better timed (and possibly longer) my set will be, so grab your friends and take them out for a night of quality hip-hop, and probably also some rock and other stuff.

Remember, doors at 6, first act kicks off at 6:30 (which could be me, set order is decided the day of the show)

Purchase tickets here.

Sun Zoo Promo Pack

Hi folks! Some of you have expressed interest in helping to promote Roads on the Earth, I’ve made a little pack to help you with that. Of course, you’re always welcome to make your own stuff, but in case you don’t feel like it, here’s a collection of banners and posters that you can throw up around your city, post on your myspace or facebook profiles, or plaster all over message boards.

Here’s one of the cool banners included

Download the Sun Zoo Promo Pack (544 KB ZIP File)

The .zip file includes a variety of images, as well as a text file with some ideas, and all the relevant links, html code, and guidelines for reference. The first person to send me some pictures of Sun Zoo posters pasted up around their town or city (more than one, have a bunch of locations) will win a free, professionally pressed copy of an extremely hard to find Sun Zoo album (not Roads on the Earth…something older you’ve never heard of).

Happy hunting!

Veggie Co Sampler with more songs free!

Dear cheap bastards who still haven’t bought the new album,
You’re in luck! Veggie Co is putting out a sampler called The Essentials Vol. I. You can download it for free, or get a free hard copy at one of our shows, and it features three songs from my album, as well as three songs by Ghost of a Stranger. The songs of mine that you can’t get free off this site are “Alive” and “Roads on the Earth”.
Enjoy!

Net radio

The internet radio station Pulse Empire is going to be playing some of my music, and that of other artists you don’t know of but probably would like, like Spoonfull. Specifically, DJ C, whose shows are on Tuesday, 3-5pm EST, and Wednesday 3-4pm EST, will be spinning my stuff, and it’s free, so log in and check it out!

Sun Zoo Live @ the Webster Underground

I’m playing a show June 27th at the Webster Underground in Hartford, CT (directions). Tickets are $10 at the door, or $8 in advance (leave a comment here with your email and I’ll find a way to get you an advance ticket). Doors open at 6:00 PM and the show begins at 6:30. There are some other bands playing the show as well, and artist order is determined by who has presold the most tickets, so help us pack this show with Sun Zoo fans by buying a ticket and coming to the show!

The Webster Underground has been voted “the best rock club and the best place to see live music by the Hartford Advocate for the last FIVE years!” It’s a great place to see some live music, and this show is going to be a sweet way to kick off the summer right!

Copies of Roads on the Earth will be on sale at the show.

If you have requests for songs, leave those too. I’m in the process of figuring out the setlist now, so if you’re coming and there is something you really want to hear, speak now!

Listen to a New Song for Free, Free Ringtone

For a limited time (I think), Veggie Co Records has got a stream up where you can listen to two songs from the Ghost of a Stranger album and two songs from my album. One of the songs, “Morning After”, is also available free on this site but the other one, “Roads on the Earth”, should be all new to you unless you’ve already purchased the album, so head over here to listen to it!

They also have posted a free ringtone of my song “Suibian” here and linked a service that will help you get it onto your phone here. Enjoy!

Review

Matthew’s review is now also featured as news on hip-hop.net, and rumor has it that the review will also be on aznraps.com later, but we’ll see about that. Anyway, to read the review, see the previous post.
